FAQ

How many days are normal for irregular periods?

Typically, menstrual periods last about four to seven days and follow a regular cycle of around 28 days. Irregular periods, however, deviate from this norm. They may occur less frequently than every 21 days, more often than every 35 days, or involve missing three or more consecutive periods. Other signs of irregularity include a menstrual flow that is much heavier or lighter than usual.

How do you know my cycle if my periods are irregular?

If the length of your menstrual cycle varies significantly from month to month, it suggests irregular periods. This means your cycles may start earlier or later than expected. While the average menstrual cycle is about 28 days, it's normal for cycles to be slightly shorter or longer.

Can birth control pills help regulate irregular periods?

Yes, hormonal contraception methods such as combined birth control pills or hormonal IUDs can help regulate menstrual cycles and make periods more predictable. It’s a good idea to talk to your doctor to find the best option for your specific needs and situation.

Are irregular periods a sign of infertility?

Irregular periods don't always mean infertility, but they can sometimes be related to fertility issues. If you're trying to conceive and have concerns, consulting a fertility specialist can provide valuable guidance and support.
